What do I need to do?

To ensure that the campus relocation process is as easy and smooth as possible, please fill in the Consent to Transfer Campus via this form by 12 August  and indicate that you consent to transferring your enrolment to the new campus at 60 Phillip St, Sydney. The SCU Team will update your CoE (if required) and your enrolment so you can start at the new campus for your next timetabled units from Term 5, 2025.

Will this affect my course?

No. Your course, units and study plan will not change. Only the location of the campus will be different. This campus change will show as Sydney – The Hotel School (THS) on your enrolment as it reflects the physical campus location.

Why is this change happening?

SCU Sydney is moving to a modern, centrally located campus that offers better access to transport, professional industry partners, and a larger, more vibrant student community, including domestic students. This improves the overall student experience and strengthens alignment with SCU’s industry partners.

When do I start attending the new campus?

All classes will commence at 60 Phillip Street from Term 5, 2025. You will receive your timetable with the new campus locations from the Campus Program Coordinators before the start of Term 5.

What is The Hotel School Australia (THSA)?

THSA has operated as a part of Southern Cross University for over 30 years and is Australia’s leading higher education provider for students studying hospitality and hotel management. It has campuses in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and enrols both domestic and international students.

Will I be studying with students from THSA?

No. While you will share the same campus facilities, SCU students and THSA students remain in separate academic programs with distinct timetables, classes, and teaching staff.

Do I need to change my accommodation?

No. The new campuses are located less than 10-minutes from the current locations, both in equally or more accessible locations to the current campus locations. Transportation from around the Sydney region will remain very similar, if not improved. If you are impacted by the change, our Student Support team can provide advice and resources to assist with your future planning at sydstudentsupport@scu.edu.au

I’m an international student visa holder. Does this affect my visa or enrolment?

No, it will not impact your student visa. Follow the guidance provided in the letter to confirm you are willing to relocate to the new campus and SCU will update your COE and enrolment to the campus at 60 Phillip St, Sydney.

Is there a way to visit the new campus before the move?

Yes! You’re invited to a Campus Tour and Information Session where you can explore the new space, meet staff, and connect with other students:

Location: THSA Sydney campus, 60 Phillip Street Sydney

Date: Wednesday 6 August, 2025

Time: 2pm-3pm

What support is available if I have concerns?

If you have questions or concerns about the move, you can contact the Student Support team at sydstudentsupport@scu.edu.au or visit reception at Mary Street Surry Hills for further information.

What if I don’t want to consent to the campus transfer?

We are sure that the new campus will provide an enhanced learning and campus experience for all students with minimal disruption to you and your ongoing studies.

Come to the Campus Tour and Information Session and speak to staff about any concerns you may have. If you do not wish to relocate, please advise this in your response to the form you received. An SCU staff member will be in contact to discuss your options, which includes withdrawing from your course at SCU. We will support you to enrol in a similar course at another institution, if appropriate, and provide you with a refund of any unspent tuition fees.
